We're on the north side of 28th Street, right off Broadway. The location can't be beat. This is the heart of the Nomad neighborhood, and we're surrounded by tons of good shopping, hotels, and eats.
Nomad's Early Bird Special Regulars (and early birds) at this boutique love it for the $3 morning special. It's something we do exclusively at Nomad. $3 gets you coffee or tea and one of our signature financiers. Pick between the almond or chocolate (we like to alternate on visits!) and you've got a very ideal start to any morning. And seriously, it's almost too good to be true. Most of our boutiques in NYC are located uptown, with the exception of Nomad and World Trade Center. It's perfect for when you want to stay below 34th Street. We love strolling around this quickly evolving neighborhood at least once a week. There seems to be a new hotel going up each month, and new restaurants at every turn. We have our favorites:
Fancy lunch and dinner meetings at The NoMad Hotel: Ask to be seated in the main dining room; the light there during the day is beyond beautiful. Get together with friends for a casual lunches and afternoon snack breaks at Pondicheri. Of special notes are all the drinks they offer at Pondicheri... think rose lassi and kahwa (green tea with cardamom, saffron, and mint). Classic masala chai and almond chai are also well worth a detour. And dinner dates at Marta... bring on the crazy good, blistering hot pizzas and fabulous champagne. And don't forget about the tiramisu and panna cotta for dessert.
Pistachio Mille Crêpes A few blocks south we've got Madison Square Park, and Shake Shack! Catch us in the C Line for a double dip of chocolate custard in a cone, all year round. We do our grocery shopping over at Eataly; the main part of the shop (where you enter on 5th Ave) is always crowded with tourists, but locals know to enter off 23rd Street which leads you straight into Eataly's unbeatable fruit and produce section. The goods here are top notch and they even have a vegetable butcher who can peel/chop/dice anything you purchase! We also love getting fresh pastas, imported dry goods, meats (especially the duck breasts) and seafood (Maine and Santa Barbara uni by the tray!) from Eataly. The restaurants look good but they're always too packed with people. We prefer getting the raw ingredients and walking home to cook a feast. Make sure to stop at their wine shop next door. Then you have a complete dinner.
