Charcoal Mille Crêpes We launched our deep and dark Charcoal Mille Crêpes last autumn. They were an instant hit, stunning with a seductive and nutty coffee-chocolate flavor, the eye-catching shade naturally produced from the infusion of charcoal. We top this cake with a pour of silky charcoal ganache and ring it with crunchy cacao nibs.
Lady M Irvine is the only Lady M boutique in the US where you can find this cake. It alone is worth the visit.
Do budget extra time when you come visit us at Irvine; there is plenty to enjoy here. This boutique location is bright and spacious, perfect for lingering and catching up with old (and new) friends. We like the early afternoon the best. A well made post-lunch iced latte and a slice, depending on what flavors we are craving. Our cravings change frequently, as you can imagine, but Pistachio Mille Crêpes and Strawberry Mille Crêpes are in boutiques for just a few more days...
We love the long communal table in the front half of the boutique - the light there is wonderful for pictures and the social element of communal tables can't be beat. Fun thing to note, the tables have charging docs for phones/laptops!
Pistachio Mille Crêpes Next up, a stroll around the Irvine Museum. This is a true gem, with a focus on California art. A visit here is always so serene and contemplative. We often get caught up with the big name/famous museums in NYC and forget to invest time in the neighborhood and city museums that are the backbone to each local community. Definitely visit this museum next time you are in town.
Strawberry Mille Crêpes Balboa Pier (Newport Beach) is just a short 25 minute drive from our boutique. Sunrise and sunset hours here are truly stunning, though if you can allocate a full day of rest and relaxation here, do it.
Crystal Cove State Park is also another nearby gem. Make sure to check out the iconic cottages (all built in the 1920s and 1930s)! The cottages have been carefully restored and are prime examples of Southern California architecture. A few of them are even available for vacation rentals. Very cool to be able to stay in a bit of history.
