We're heading up north today... to our Boston boutique. We'll find any happy excuse to visit Boston, and we especially love this fun boutique location right on Newbury Street.

It's walking distance or a quick cab ride to all our favorite shops and restaurants. Newbury Street and the surrounding streets are prime for weekend people watching and strolling. It's beautiful all year round but the spring and fall season (there's something so serene about the public gardens here) make us fall extra in love with the city of Boston.
Our boutique manager, Emily, has been with Lady M for three wonderful years. We're so lucky to have her! Emily decorates and garnishes all Lady M cakes; and as a pastry chef in her own right, enjoys making chocolates and breads at home. Her area recommendations include the Isabella Stewart Gardiner Museum and Piers Park - both particularly lovely now that spring's in full bloom.

Our Boston boutique is located on the ground floor of a beautiful townhouse. We made a special and exclusive cake for this location... Red Bean Mille Crêpes! Why red bean? Don't you know? Bean Crêpes for Beantown! This cake is a huge hit, and we hope you get a chance to taste it on your next trip to Boston. We use the best red beans (azuki beans) from Hokkaido and cook them down all jammy, brushing the sweet azuki beans throughout layers of the mille crêpes. It's a really beautiful cake and prime example of how we merge French techniques with Asian sensibilities.
Now enjoy a slice and get a cup of tea or coffee to-go. We're about to explore the city! First we'll go to Harvard Square and meet up with old college friends, then dive into bowls of crazy good udon at Yume Ga Arukara. This little spot was our secret for a fair bit of time but looks like the secret is out! All you do is pick between niku (cold) or hot udon, and then the amount of beef (so delicious!) you're craving. The udon noodles are handmade in house daily and are alone worth a trip to Boston.

Bellies full, we can cab over and stroll along the Boston Harbor; slow down a bit and take the late afternoon easy. Here through the weekend? Perhaps catch a game at Fenway Park, and don't forget to explore all the little neighborhoods and pockets of the city like Beacon Hill and Back Bay (where Lady M is!)

Our favorite Boston eats? Take notes! These are all great spots: Neptune Oyster (oyster and lobster roll heaven!), Craigie on Main (date night out), O Ya (sushi omakase!), Bar Mezzana (also perfect for wonderful solo dinners at the bar), and Picco (fun for group and family dinners... pastas and the housemade ice cream sundaes are not to be missed).
Till next time,
Lady M
