Behind the Scenes of our February Shoot

February 18, 2019 3:27 am
We recently moved into our new offices in Long Island City. It's big, beautiful, and the views are a dream! One of things we are most excited about here is creating a space where we can do more photoshoots, videos, events and creative projects with cakes, sweets, and much more.
In the meantime, I wanted to share images from our February shoot with Guillaume. You may have seen these images appear on our social media feeds and website over the past two weeks (and we hope you loved them!) The overarching themes for the shoot included Valentine's/Galentine's and our newly designed red boxes...red was coincidently the perfect color for both Valentine's and Lunar New Year (which you read about in this previous post). We got together a fun team of models, and of course, all the best cakes for the month.

Let's take a look below:
These were the beautiful red boxes we had designed (thank you to our designer, Diana!) We wanted boxes that would work well for both holidays, something festive and posh. These boxes pair a classic red with gold dots and our Lady M logo in a matching gold tone. We had them available in stores, complimentary with all whole cake purchases. They were a hit! We hope to do more seasonal cake boxes in the future, cross your fingers.
These were a special Valentine's treat called Éclaire a la Fraise (we made Éclair Lunaire for Lunar New Year). We used our classic choux pastry and generously filled the shell with a fresh strawberry custard cream. On top, a baby pink chocolate glaze, tiny red hearts and dried strawberries. Super pretty.
We also took three of our best selling chocolate cakes and baked them in tiny heart shapes:
 - Couronne du Chocolat is equal parts sponge cake and mousse, with white chocolate.
 - Framboise au Chocolat, layered with raspberry compote, is finished with raspberry gelée.
 - Gateau au Chocolat is oh-so velvety, featuring crushed walnuts and gold dust.
We had these both in individual sized cakes, and larger 6" cakes for people to share. Single or coupled up, the best part of Valentine's Day is all the sweets!
Don't forget about our winter dream, Red Velvet Cake. This one is in boutiques till end of the month so you've still got time. See you there.
